		At Swarketone Sailing Club there are many routes to learning more about dinghy sailing. If you just want to know 'what it's like' to go sailing, why not come down to one of our 'picnic and play' days - we can arrange for oue of our RYA qualified instructors to take you out for a quick sail, free of charge - please email our training principle for more details by clicking here

About Swarkestone Sailing Cub Swarkestone Sailing Club is a small and friendly club with about 250 members. It is an ideal venue to learn the basics of sailng, to dinghy cruise with friends or family, participate in club racing or just sit on the terrace with a drink and watch the sun set over Swarkestone Water. The modern clubhouse and large dinghy park have facilities and equipment for both disabled sailors and juniors. Club facilities The lake is about 30 hectares and just over 1 km long. It is suited to dinghies and windsurfers. Most boats are launched from pontoons. The club prides itself in being a friendly environment suitable for families and individuals alike. It has a well-equipped clubhouse with a food bar and licensed bar open for social events and on racing days. Sailing timesSailing takes place throughout the year with a variety of training courses, club races, open meetings and 'fun' regattas. Most of the organised activities take place at the weekend or on a Wednesday but members are free to sail at other times. Further informationPlease take time to look around this website. For more information on how to be part of the COOLEST sport visit the Junior website Swarkestone Sailability Sailability has become an integral part of the club. Sailability runs Wednesday afternoons from May until October. Swarkestone Sailing Club Members Area We secured part of the site for members only. This site has a number of video presentations which would be of interest to club members. This station monitors wind speed and direction, and also current temperature.
